In this verse Jesus was refering to His blood, for His blood is the New Wine that we receive when we surrender our life to Him. It is by His blood that our sin is washed, it is by His blood that we have been healed, and it is His blood that protects us, and much more. Blood is the fluid in our body that cleanses all that is impur, likewise the perfect blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
